MAUTO at Concorso Italiano
There is a must-see museum in Turin. Every year we visit Turin to meet with a variety of designers, manufacturers, and always to see a world class automotive museum. MAUTO, or Museo Nazionale Dell’Automobili (National Automobile Museum) was founded in 1933—almost 90 years ago. In the last several years we have notice a distinct renaissance at MAUTO. The exhibits are fresh and always visually and educationally stimulating. The importance of this museum to the entire Italian automobile industry is immense. As mentioned, we see a new energy that is giving the museum a whole new life. This also means more attendance and more buzz in the automotive community.
After meeting the President, Benedetto Camerana and the Director, Mariella Mengozzi it removed any question as to why MAUTO seemed fresher, brighter, and more enjoyable than ever. They are leading an injection of new energy, more cars, more restorations and greater public awareness.
Knowing how important this museum is, and seeing how the fruits of Benedetto’s and Mariella’s labor is generating so much activity, we want to honor both of them with an induction into the Concorso Italiano Hall of Fame as we present the La Bella Macchina award to them.
We invite you to join us at Concorso Italiano by either registering your vehicle or purchasing tickets. Of course either option also presents you with the opportunity to join the deluxe CI Club. Lastly, when you make your next automotive pilgrimage to Italy we strongly recommend that Turin (Torino) is on your itinerary, and that you set aside at a minimum half a day to tour MAUTO. But, make it the first half of the day because we believe you will extend that half day to something much longer. You won’t regret it.
